Day 49 Flight to Loneliness

The early morning flight first went to Atlanta, where I changed planes for New York City. By evening, I was walking around Greenwich Village. For the first time I felt a state I had expected would occur during the summer. Loneliness! It thundered in my feelings. Wow. So with this contrast I could the it was true—I really hadn’t felt lonely all summer. Along the hip urban streets, thousands of people packed the restaurants and sat outside at the public cafes, couples romancing, bottles of wine on the tables, friends laughing and shouting, having high-spirited, social times. Mine was an unexpected reaction.
